Positions at Google Brain and Deepmind?

Mar 29, 2021 11 Comments

I am fairly confident (correct me if I'm wrong) that DeepMind is largely about research and ML PhDs

How does Google Brain compare in this regard?

I'm a Software Engineer in ML with 4 YoE and Master's in ML. Are there positions in these groups for SWEs/MLEs without PhDs? What kinda work do these people do? I'm also curious to hear what teams at Google are the best for MLEs.

Thank You!

@Amazon For bachelor's degree holder, is it better to work on applied ML product team (non-research), or ML infrastructure/ ML ops team?

Also how did you come to know about this second class citizen treatment, do you work in those groups as a SWE? Your approx YOE if youre comfortable to share?

Thanks, but do both these roles require a PhD?

Google brain has many projects under it which involve software engineering and ml engineering as well. Many folks with undergrads and masters in the group as well.
