Sick VP about to be Thought a Lesson
I've been to Google Interviews last week and still awaiting feedback. At the same time, I have received interview request from AWS and they are interested to find out if I am interviewing with somebody, or if there is a timeline that they need to keep in mind. Do I share with AWS that I've interviewed at Google, and awaiting Feedback. And thereby accelerate interview process. Or just keep mum, as sharing it may play negatively? Appreciate your views.
Yeah, I’d tell them. I’m not sure if it has any influence, but I told the Amazon recruiter that I had another offer on the table and he kept bringing it up. The AWS offer was higher than I expected.
I told them that I am actively interviewing. They have scheduled a Chime interview in a few days. Any tips for prep?
How long is the interview for? If it's 90+ minutes then it's a combination of tech skills and behavioral/leadership principles. If it's 45 minutes than it's either tech or behavioral.
Good luck!
Yes. Always share with other companies that other companies want you. It makes you look in demand and will speed up the process of getting you scheduled. Not sure if it will have any bearing on your offer unless you have another offer but if they really like you, and want you, it could get them to make their initial offer higher than normal.
I would share, however there are a couple of notes: 1) once you share, they’re going to ask for updates on the other company, and 2) Google’s process is MUCH slower than Amazon’s. It’s likely more important that you tell Google that you’re interviewing with Amazon in order to try and expedite things on their end.
If you want to move quick with Aws.. tell them yes you are actively interviewing and you want to move quick .. that’s should be enough for now .. you still got to go through their interview process
Do I mention, that these interviews are with Google? I mean saying just a competitor will still be apparently clear as I am with MS currently.
Don’t say initially even pretend you don’t want to say (trust me they will ask) then casually mention it is Google but tell them you’d prefer to work for them
