I have a BSc and education is free in my country. However, I am yet to meet anyone who is further ahead in their career due to an MSc than their BSc or even degreeless counterparts.
I believe that as a personal challenge it’s fine. I have worked with lots of people who have a master degree but I see no difference between who has and who does not
Yeah, that's what I'm seeing too.
It's all about return on investment. If it costs you no extra to go, but you'll be further ahead, do it. If not, don't. Pretty straightforward
That's exactly my question. I don't know whether it would get me ahead.
Getting the masters will definitely help you to improve work life balance.
How so?
Do it if the thing you'll study is something you find interesting.
Definitely not necessary in US especially if it’s not research based
I got a masters and think it was worth it in terms of the technical things i learned, but it didn't really open any new doors or increase my salary.

OP. Are you evaluating only MSc or perhaps MBA as well? BSc with MBA may be more diversified and fruitful. Is MBA free/subsidized?
MBA is not free, I was thinking about getting a Master's in leadership and management tho, which is kinda similar. Not sure how it stacks up in the job market.
If you have plan to emigrate in the future, MS might get you some points or advantages over BS. In job it should not be an issue at all unless MBA. In case of regular MS people will yawn at you if you mention your MS after few years in the job.
What country is this?
Better than coming out of school in crippling debt. Some countries care for their citizens in order to build a stronger foundation. Some let their foundations crumble after attaining success backed off its workers.
