I have been at Amazon for 4 years and was just informed I will be put on a dev plan soon. I had a great relationship with my previous manager and was promoted less than a year ago. This new year my manager left for another opportunity with my peers to follow shortly after. I was left with being the only person supporting this team without any help or backfill in place prior to everyone leaving (manager and two peers). My skip manager has minimal experience working with me, but told me during my Forte feedback that I will be getting a PIP once my new manager starts. All of my feedback came back positive from my colleagues (cross functional senior level colleagues as well) aside from the “manager” portion. He/she also gathered anoynmous feedback and read it to me which mentioned how inefficent I was as a worker. None of this was reflected on my actual Forte. I am really overwhelmed with managing my job and with the situation. I am not sure if I should just wait for a severance or try to transfer before an official PIP happens.. Does anyone know what a severance package would look like with my tenue + TC? (4+ YOE / $110k TC) Any advice is appreciated. I am seeking constructive feedback, no trolling please. *** I am in non-tech / marketing based role #amazon #marketing

Youve been at amazon for 4 years with TC of 110k? You joking?
Use the Dev plan time to prepare for interviews and then leave
Do you know if they offer severance at the same time a dev plan is presented?
After dev plan if you fail you'd be presented with the option to take severance, appeal the failure, or move on to the actual PIP. If you take PIP and fail that too, you get severance at 1/3 the original offering. The process seems to change kinda frequently, so it might be slightly different now.

Start looking now. Seems hard if not impossible to fight so get an offer and run
You said: all of my feedback came back positive from colleagues. Who collected that feedback? You? I have seen these patterns before: colleagues will give positive feedback when they know you can read it but give different feedback to managers.
Not exactly! Sometimes manager simply lies in the name of anonymous feedback!!!
This was Forte feedback that came back positive. My manager that just left ranked me as highly valued before they left the other month. my skip manager then presented his anonymous feedback he collected after going through the official Forte with me. He also asked for the internal team I am on to provide feedback on how my role should be restructured in their eyes in regards to roles and responsibilities without my knowledge. Almost everyone on the current team was poached from his previous company.
Op. Although ur package is very low. However, if u want to stay ....u shd immediately Change ur team asap. And this has to happen before u are piped. Also, for this, one suggestion, talk to ur old manager and see if he has a place for you....tell him everything if u were at good relations with him...and ask his guidance. He can give you some good suggestions applicable to ur current situation. Good Luck.
Thank you. I am talking to my old manager tomorrow, but they are in a completely different role and area within Amazon. They said they’d talk to my HRBP and any new hiring manager interested in speaking with me, I just hope that works ...
Based on what OP's manager said, he can't switch teams anymore. You're stuck, unfortunately. :(
OLR has happened and you've been put into the system. You cannot transfer within Amazon at this point. If you don't pass the dev plan, you'll be offered a 3-months salary and 1 month of insurance given that you accept resignation and leave
Maybe your manager was on a PIP too
They got promoted to a 7 and rotated to a diff role
I wish you the best! This all sounds completely unfair.
Why don’t you just leave?
I would, but I need severance or something to fall back on.
Esmo77 do you your self know ...why op shd leave? Or just giving random suggestion that came from top of Ur mind?
