I recently got a job at Amazon and will be relocating to Seattle from ct. I was looking at the UW professional masters program and was wondering what the advantage is? I know that masters students are often offered 10% more than undergrad students when coming out of school but how about once you’ve been working for a few years? What are the advantages/disadvantages of doing one of these programs besides that obv disadvantage of cost?
If it is top tier school. It could help u build credibility if u r in senior management level, or probably get funding as startup founder. Otherwise it doesn’t do much
I was looking at uw which does have a good rep but doesn’t have specialization like Columbia where you can specialize in ml or quant finance. Seems like holding off for a few years and then doing an mba from a top school may be more worthwhile.

I got a masters and it really didn’t do much. Maybe if the program is respected and you got companies recruiting from that school. Not sure your program but I don’t think you make what it ends up costing unless it’s really a value school (public vs private or online)
