For those of you that have had interviews at bigger companies- FAANG, Stripe, AirBNB, LinkedIn, Uber…etc Are you getting the interviews from being approached by a recruiter, or have you applied on LinkedIn/company website?
Referrals and messaging hiring managers
applied on careers
I don’t get approached by recruiters at all (I think cus my yoe in my new role is low and I don’t have higher ed degree). But every interview I’m getting is mostly from applying on their site directly (FB, Twitter, Square, etc.), or less commonly through a referral. A friend also introduced me to their recruiter at Google and that’s how I started the process there.
Both. With a strong resume (I kept iterating until I started getting recruiter screens) you can apply without a referral and get responses. I received more responses with a referral though.
Both
