Hello fellow investors, Any advice on how does one get into real estate rental property investments ? I am looking for remote property management with as little headache as possible, well established management companies/websites where I can just deposit money and get passive returns ? I have about 500k in stock market(401k + vanguard/betterment + RSUs + more). And about 250k liquid cash. At this point I am looking to diversify and get into passive income through rental properties or other means. Still on H1b, so it has to be passive income. Buying entire condo/rental apartments wouldn't be my first choice, rather I would probably want to start with a 100k or less first time investment. May be a share of a popular renting/airbnb spot. Are there such companies who would just take my money, invest in a range of properties in part or full at location and property types of my choice and availability, and return me a monthly passive income ? Would also appreciate if you can share your success stories and how you began. TC : 410k Yoe : 15
I buy SFHs in central valley. Not really successful yet but I plan to buy a lot in the next few years and hopefully they appreciate.
What's SFH?
Single family home. Alternatives are townhomes, condos, and multi family
Maybe down payment for 5 condos and rent them out one at a time? There r loads of constructions in South Bay and East Bay also with high demand.
Condos I heard are bad investments
Reason?
Looks promising.
Op, how did you like roofstock. Did you end up investing in any property
I plan on buying a couple houses in Sacramento by end of 2020
Buying real estate ETFs
What's ETFs?
Exchange traded fund.
Reits?
How is your experience with returns on REITs ? Is it generally better than index funds ? Any specific one you recommend ?
REIT.com May answer those questions. This is my first year doing a reit etf. Specific reit like AMT has gone up a lot due to market worrying about recession and 5G cell towers. I recently saw NRZ with like a 14% yield, shocking... I wouldn’t compare reits to other index funds because I think of buying reit as a diversification to traditional stock market.
Yeah, if you dont want direct involvement or responsibility, might as well buy REITs or as someone said, real estate related securities
