A whole 2 weeks after my follow up interview (after a full onsite), I still have gotten no response from recruiter, who previously were fairly quick in responding. Emailed this morning for an update, and still nothing. Does FB usually ghost-reject candidates ? This is for SWE position in FBNY.
That sucks. Just like working there (personal experience) you get lost in the pile. They can take weeks if not month at times to make an offer.
Got an offer in less than a week after interview
Guess it depends on recruiter and how badly they want you. Not sure what’s changed the last 2 years but I got my offer 3 weeks after my on-site.
All the recruiters I had in NY were super quick and responsive. Sounds weird
Thanks for the encouragement, but please give to me straight, this is more likely a ghost-rejection isn't it.
I had another interview after onsite and got a yes same day. Probably it's a no or not sure yet
Honestly I think it's more likely that your recruiter is on vacation and fucked up.
Likely just means they aren’t sure yet or rejected. It’s unfortunate that they can’t just be honest.
I am not in SWE but in other orgs this means you are a top candidate (so no outright rejection) but there is something like another candidate they want to see holding the offer up. You have a pretty good chance the other candidate is a dud IRL but looked good on paper. Keep the faith!
No, they will let you know if you were rejected. There's still hope
I got ghosted by FB. I wasn’t interested in the position after the on-site (which I traveled for) so I never followed up. Guess they weren’t interested either because I never heard a peep.
Name and shame the recruiter. FB is the worst about ghosting.
The recruiter should answer soon. One week after my interview, the recruiter told me i’m hired but the offer will have to wait 3-4 weeks because of headcount. You might be in the same boat. Best way to know is to give the recruiter 1-2 business days to answer your email.
