I logged into my Glassdoor account and found my reviews deleted for all companies I have reviewed. All were previously approved years ago, 2 to 4 stars each. Anyone else experienced this? I'm not wasting time reviewing on there again. I keep trying to post a screenshot, but the Blind app crashes. Hosted here: https://preview.ibb.co/ghsHH8/screen_shot_2018_06_26_at_10_30_25_pm.png
Ya Glassdoor seems shady as hell. Their review removal terms look vague, and there are countless stories like yours online. A quick google search finds agencies that exist for this specific purpose, eg https://reputationresolutions.com/remove-glassdoor-reviews/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuoC006fz2wIVTb7ACh3_BgPWEAAYASAAEgJC8PD_BwE
There’s no way for employers to remove reviews by paying or any other way. Most likely this person’s reviews were flagged.
Perhaps they had incident in the backend?
They deleted reviews for Theranos. It’s described in the book Bad Blood
Yep same thing happened to me. High probability that company’s HR paid agency (or they themselves) flagged content that had lower ratings. I also noticed that every low rating was almost immediately complemented by a vague 5 star review. I’m not sure if it’s a shady Glassdoor policy or if companies are gaming it (seems like it would be easy to do so)
It’s def not GD, there’s literally no option for employers to buy removal of reviews.
No, I get that but if there are folks in HR that create multiple accounts and flag a post that has a negative review, it will be removed. I literally had reviews that were live for over 3 months with multiple folks finding it helpful and yet it was deleted without a proper messaging. I reached out to support who weren’t helpful at all
Sue them
For what? It's their site, and they can control content. I'm asking if others experience this -- sounds like they do.
I’m in sales, I wish I could delete reviews :( I’d make so much money
@DingleBell Can you dm me your username and I can check why they were removed? As someone else pointed, we might have a bug in the back end that could be causing this.
I am confident that it is not a back end problem. I used to have another account, and the same thing happened to that one back in the day (2 years ago?). I switched to a new email and rewrote my reviews, only to find them all deleted again. Can't really be an accident both times.
@DingleBell without the username or some more info about the deleted reviews, I can't help you about the issue . There are a few reasons for this kind of issue but whether or not this one falls under that can only be determined after some deep dive. Since you have already made up your mind, can't really do much about it. But will still reiterate, that none of the user submitted content is removed at Employer's request. Our legal team would have a much easier job if that's how we operated. Do a search for Glassdoor sued and you'll see what I mean. Paid or not, Employers have no control over the content. Someone has been harping about 'Theranos' in this thread and some others as well and let me tell you, that's all BS through and through. Reviews are regularly removed when you flag them and then a human eye looks at those to make sure they are actually flag worthy. If you are interested in getting to the bottom of this, DM me some more info and I will go ahead and make sure we get to the bottom of this.
Yep had the same issue. Reviews deleted without notifying. Not bothering with reviewing again
