I observe huge discrepancy between salaries reported on glassdoor and here/levels.fyi. Who's lying ;)?
Glassdoor only lists base salary and itās aggregate data going back 5+ years and they donāt tell you how fresh most of the data is. Donāt use it. You donāt want to ask for last yearās salary or base salary only when negotiating and rip yourself off. I made that mistake with my last job. Felt so bad for 1.5 years.
Glassdoor data is garbage as of today.
Did you check indeed?
Levels is somewhat inflated and Glassdoor is somewhat deflated. I take an average of the two and add/subtract 5% for a reasonable range.
Levels is not inflated. Itās on point and real data.
Glassdoor has too much historical data looking at Microsoft salary ranges. They need to have a rolling window of 1 year to make that site more useful.
Assuming they get enough data points each year ... Otherwise their site is total garbage
You can easily confirm a lot of data on levels.fyi by just looking around at old blind threads
