Hello,
I am currently working as a BI engineer, my day to day activities involve basic workflow automation using Airflow/ SSIS along with SQL, Tableau for developing and slight modifications to dashboards.
I am aiming for senior data scientist role for that i am clocking in around 1 hour a day in learning tensorflow from Google courses in coursera along with that i am doing basic projects in Kaggle to brush up my knowledge in machine learning.
I previously did thesis in machine learning space (2 years ago) during my masters, so i think i have a basic understanding of statistics.
My goal here is to become a senior/staff data scientist in FAANG or a good tech company in the next 6 months or sooner.
Looking for suggestions on how to improve my chances of landing in my dream role? Currently earning peanuts so trying to push myself to middle class living with this shift.
YOE: 2 years as java software engineer, 3 years BI engineer with Masters

Also if you want to build models don’t just jump into deep learning. Learn basic shit like regression, clustering and cart algos. Most production models are basic AF not some fancy DL. Also, the majority of the work in this area is not the modeling, it’s infrastructure and feature generation.
