Recently interviewed with Uber for L4 SWE and was told that the overall feedback was positive but was down-leveled to L3 with the reason being “the team felt that you weren't quite ready for an L4/SDE II role”. I know that a few other companies (like Google) give candidates the option to do additional interviews for a chance at an up-level. Is this possible at Uber as well?
Also, does anyone have an idea of the compensation ranges for L3 for Bay Area/New York/Seattle? What would be the maximum that Uber could offer? Thanks.

The expectations for L4 will be much higher, so it may be a better idea to be a rockstar L3 who gets promoted quickly than an L4 who is doing below the bar.
A) you were only considered for level n (not n/n+1)
B) you crushed it an n
That is not the case you're in. You interviewed for n+1, and specifically for down levelled to n. Why on earth would they let you interview for n+1 again?
