Go to Dropbox or stay at Microsoft?

I'm a PM at Microsoft and just got an offer from Dropbox for PM. Thoughts on Dropbox as a company over Microsoft? Especially for PMs? The total comp at Dropbox is 10% higher, assuming RSUs are priced at $10/share (~6B valuation). Location is the same too, SF and SF. I'm up for promo in August according to my manager but the 10% comp increase is above my expected numbers post promo.

Company culture at DB is amazing from my few friends that jumped MS to DB. perks are amazing and even though it’s now a stable company it’s still very “startupy” which is a huge plus to me. If I had that opportunity to change jobs without moving I would in a heartbeat

Sounds like you are taking a salary cut in the hope that those Dropbox RSUs will be as much as they say it will be.

Worked at both and would not go for a 10% bump. The Dropbox PM org is very disorganized, the paper money may not work out, and PM role at Dropbox has little to do with actual product. What is the offer, and current MSFT level?

I'm a level 60 right now at MS and expecting a leave 61 promo in August. Been here since Sept 2015. Base is same as my expected base post promo, paper stocks are 40k/yr instead of ~22 right now

I would say try to negotiate. 10% increase is little low. I was in the similar situation an year ago when I got offer from Uber. Since it has lot of paper money in total comp, I got 50% increase.
