I am currently working at Amazon as an L5. I have a SWE offer from Facebook E4 with a significant salary bump(40%), but I am concerned about the work life balance and stress at Facebook. Currently, I have a decent WLB in my current team at AWS and work is okayish. But, I am not happy with the compensation and I don’t know about the average growth time at Amazon from L5 to L6.

Move and if you don’t like them, move again after a year. No point staying at low salary. Money will matter when you grow older

It's not as amazing as you might think. Same old shit as everywhere else.
Too early to think about WLB.
Ask your recruiter to talk to engineers on teams you might be interested in. If it's infra, you'll probably have great WLB. Otherwise it varies by team. And of course the bootcamp process means you'll have time to work with a team before deciding to join them, so any WLB issues won't be a surprise.
I see. I thought Facebook infrastructure was more hectic than product teams. Is that not the case? Can you share an example of bad work life balance and how that affected you?
Your wlb will be bad and stress will be worse. But $$$. Tough call. At least your only option is Amazon or Fb. That’s easy. Mine was G and Fb (as well as most others). Did I make the wrong decision? Some days it feels like it... At least I can buy a house in South Bay. 🤷♂️
