Hi, I’m 10 years into my career but spent most of it in category management. I created an app and also a website as a hobby but other than that, don’t have any experience here. Is there a way to maneuver into this career area?

Thinking about taking a General Assembly course but not sure FAANG/high growth startups even see these as legitimate.

TC: $145

So the course alone might not be enough to help you break into FAANG, but it will help you get a job in that field and some experience which can then help you pivot into FAANG. Google also offer a UX Design certification through Coursera which is pretty highly regarded

Thank you that’s really helpful and it looks like the course is free

I’m not sure it’s free. I think it requires a Coursera plus subscription to complete the entire specialization. I think it’s only the first course out of 6 that’s free

My brother did this, graduated as one lf the better people in his group, did a couple contracting jobs, and then landed full time at Ebay with about 180K TC. I imagine he could make the jump to a better place if he tried right now. Definitely possible in the end, maybe not immediately after bootcamp
