For those who are Finance savvy: is there a good time of year to buy stocks, due to seasonal selling etc? Eg let’s say I want to buy a basket of FAANG stock. Should I set up a monthly purchase over X months? (Might make cost basis a pain to calculate later); or just buy at once in Dec, let’s say? I have never been an active investor so I want to buy and hold. I am bullish on the power of the emerging monopolists.
My opinion is that the market is too high right now and companies are being valued too far into the future. Maybe consider trading crypto currencies, lots of volatility and opportunity to make quick money if you're careful. Best option is to save up for an investment property and rent it out.
I’m thinking it is time to get smaller cap tech companies. Think about it with cash coming back from Ireland, there will be either acquisition, buy back or grow within. Growing within is slower so more acquisitions will happen. Just not TWTR.
Yes I think mid-cap SaaS companies like Hubspot and Zendesk are great candidates if you believe this thesis (I mostly do).
I like ZEN
Markets are overvalued right now. But the tax cut will only increase the bubble. It’s going to overheat before it comes crashing down. Buy now but keep your finger on the trigger to sell all. The government won’t be able to inject any cash in the economy after blowing a huge hole in the deficit and interest rates won’t be high enough to be of any help. Anyone in financial circles knows this and they all hope to pump and dump just in time which means when it goes it will go faster than it ever has. Be ready. We’re in for a wild ride.
This bubble will not be over until end of Trump’s 4 or 8 year term and AAPL at least hit 1trillion market cap.
Facebook, Google and Apple are good candidates for shorting. All three are companies beyond their peak and GOOG and FB in particular are on the wrong side of history with their commitment to the soon-to-be-widely-discredited mantras of progressivism, and that's going to affect their business. I'd say invest in put options of GOOG and FB. Amazon is a great company but not sure whether the stock price is inflated or not.
Not sure about the financial advise but your take on the politics is interesting.
Make sure you buy the basket in the spring. That’s when they’re fresh
Market is overvalued but don’t short it. Invest systematically when pullbacks happen. No one can time a crash !!!!
How do you define a pullback? Low relative to what? How much decline? Approx how many times a year does that occur?
Even if there is a crash stocks tend to recover past their old peaks

you're asking for an anonymous stranger to predict the stock market for you, for free. I'll happily oblige: Buy all now and hold for the long run.
