Good zone 1/2 neighborhoods to stay in London

Moving to Amazon London office (1 Principal Place) and would like to stay in zone 1/2, ideally not more than 2-3 miles away from office. Looking for a 2 bhk that I will be sharing with another friend.
Budget - 2500 for the 2bhk (excluding council tax, utilities)
Any suggestions from the folks in London ?

Zone 1 is really expensive. You will get more bang for your buck in 2/3/4.
I want to stay in the heart of the city for at least one year before I move out find my comfort zone
