That's... Unlikely. If Azure and AWS had zero growth in that period, GCP would still have to have 400% *growth* to match their current figures. Must be one heck of a suite of plays coming.
If you count GSuite revenue as cloud. Without it itās probably more like 40,000%.
That means they are going to shutdown GCP by 2023. Which is par of the course for Google.
Possible if Google acquires Amazon or Microsoft. Or vice versa.
Amzn and msft are both trillion dollar companies. They buying Google could be possible š
Nope
GCP is shit
They added TK from Oracle after this original exec meeting the article talks about. This was to beef up Enterprise Sales and marketing. GCP is already number 3 and they can certainly close the gap on AWS and Azure by 2023 even if they donāt overtake them. Increasing their current market share is definitely possible.
Think Alibaba is #3, not GCP. Or did things change in the last year?
GCP annual revenues is 8B vs Alibabaās 4.5B
BTW, google funds a lot of larger sized startups via their funding arm. Most of these companies are paying for GCP.
A challenge to be sure. But having goals and the cash flow behind them, combined with the sheer talent pool on the development side, I think GCP can close on on at least azure if TK can meet his goals of building out a competent sales org. I think there are areas GCP can definitely out maneuver Azure and AWS, specifically in AI/ML space.
"sheer talent pool"? š who told you that? i mean sure a lot of smart people still work at google (or better to say retiring š at google), but it is no longer 2010. i saw so much garbage code or design there that it became the norm rather than exception.
Google has more ābook smartā computer scientists than Microsoft (though itās close due to MSR being the premier CS research institution) or Amazon. That said, that alone wonāt win this war. Amazon and MS are miles ahead in terms of adoption, growth, sales orgs, contracts, and corporate partners. Like it or not Amazon and Microsoft are Coke and Pepsi... and Google is, at best, RC cola
