what is a business analyst role at google like? my background is in data science and i am a new grad from UC Berkeley. is a biz analyst = a data analyst? and will i be able to move upwards from there to become a data scientist? will i be utilizing sql, python, and R as a business analyst, or is it just low level excel work? thanks!
TC or GTFO!
I'm a new grad lol
Just add TC 0 to your post so that wassssup can get some sleep tonight.
Product analyst is more of the data science stuff you are looking for. Also look into business intelligence engineer roles Biz Analyst is more basic excel/SQL, decision driving role, with less of the hard technical skillset. Biz Analyst tends to be more low level reporting and metrics responsibilities.
How's does the TC compare for the two? What about career progression?
^ same. And does Amazon have such roles that consider new grads?
Employers love to have 3in1 jobs. Business Analysis shouldn't have any data analytics deliveries. Your role as a BA is to consult on results, process, write user stories, TALK/ Explore requirements and have no decision power.

I know this team well. You'll do mainly Google Sheets and SQL. You can use Python and R though no one will force you too. However it might show leadership how good you are. Base pay is about $95k.
