Google Business Analyst Salary 1.3 Million on H1b !!!

https://news.efinancialcareers.com/us-en/3003798/highest-paying-h1b-visa-salaries-denied?_ga=2.19745912.1500133581.1589945477-1558078607.1589945477 Google's renewal rejections included applications for a software engineer and a business analyst, both on $1.3m in Menlo Park California. The visas were to have begun in July 2020. A 'compensation associate' in Mountain View on a $985k salary also had his/her visa refused recently. At Facebook, an H1B visa renwal application for a software engineer on $2m that was due to start in February 2020 was refused. And at Amazon, a Seattle operations engineer on an $840k salary had his/her renewal application denied in February. It's not unheard of for H1B applications to be refused: last year Google had around 60 refusals and Amazon had around 35. However, most refusals in 2019 were for comparatively junior staff: it's usually to argue that a senior individual has the kind of specialized knowledge that merits a renewal or a transfer. This years' refusals suggest that might no longer be the case. Although some high paying H1B applications are being refused, there are signs that others are slipping through. Deutsche Bank, for example, has recently had an application approved for a New York managing director on a salary of $1.8m (starting August). Facebook has a software engineer on a salary of $1.9m. And Amazon has a level III programme manager in Seattle earning a salary of $1.3m. These roles are likely to pay stock bonuses too.

Still don't understand why their visa was refused?

Rally Health Mr Dwight May 19, 2020

Probably because their degree didnt match the job description. Its not just about TC

Microsoft manAF May 28, 2020

Whaatttt? When company is paying so much for their skills and degree did not match? Seriously there is a problem with the system

Oracle RDeB78 May 19, 2020

Software engineers are earning $2m!!! Holy $h!t

Roblox last_dance May 19, 2020

Seriously! Is this for real? 2M$$

Facebook zQkM46 May 20, 2020

If you join at E8 in FB your TC can be upwards of 1M. At E-slightly below that and my TC is just under 1M. I guess our handful of E9s and above earn 2M+.

EATON Chimponzi May 19, 2020

They were rejected because those salaries were typos. Law firms make these mistakes all the times.

NVIDIA TF.2.0 OP May 19, 2020

😆🤣😅

Google several May 19, 2020

This is actually the right answer. H1B applications only list base pay and not RSUs or bonus.

Facebook crazy_ar May 19, 2020

What kind of people were getting these salary

Google AC/TC May 19, 2020

I think at least some of these had an extra zero on the end as a typo.

Target leet_life May 19, 2020

Are you saying 1.5-2M without equity. No way it’s possible. Fake!

Equinix randomsha May 19, 2020

Bullshit!

Amazon JR87 May 19, 2020

Bullshit article. LCA never has RSUs or bonus amount listed. It has “minimum” wages. Yes, FAANG is capable for paying really high salaries but “base” can never be in millions which is what gets put on LCA. Also why the hell anyone cares if I call a data scientist an Ops specialist or whatever the heck I want to call it. This is pure racism from USCIS. No wonder they are getting bankrupt and begging for money from congress

Facebook fiwo May 19, 2020

This atleast for the first part.

Microsoft msft51 May 19, 2020

Right. Amazon caps salary and just increases equity. Article says Amazon paid $1-2m in salary. Seems inconsistent. I wonder if all of these are just typos, by an order of 10. And that’s why they’re rejected.

Google ProfSergio May 19, 2020

Typos LMAO

Google not-hotdog May 19, 2020

Lmao yeah right. You think someone bringing that level of value would get a renewal rejected?
