Question for you all...I see a ton of stuff on here for what to prep/study for, for SDE or PM or PgM...but very little on leadership roles. What should I focus on for interviews for L5/L6 at Google for engineering manager? Is it same as SDE, medium/hard LC and System Design, but with leadership questions in the mix or? Any help would be appreciated. TC:100 working for small non-profit currently.
EM isnβt L5. I would assume the same as a general EM interview plus one Linux focused assessment.
Are Google EMs by default all L6? Levels.fyi implies it could be either.
Itβs generally L3 > L4 > L5 and then you choose either the IC or management route more or less. Continue with IC and go L6 or reset to management with M1. I could be wrong but from answers Iβve gotten in the past, thatβs what it is.
One coding, 2 system designs and 2 managerial rounds
This^ . Coding will be LC easy or medium
Appreciate the tips! Gives me something to focus on this winter. Is Python acceptable for coding rounds?
Awesome thanks for headsup.
hey op , how did the interview go ?
Op, if you can share your interview experience it will be great. Really interested in knowing coding round question level.

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
You are going to get blasted with coding and large scale system design questions on top of the managerial stuff. LC medium/hard is definitely on the table. Good luck!
