Hi, I have an on-site interview for Technical Program Manager in GCP. I’m told I’ll have six interviews, two of which will be technical but not involve coding. Does anyone have any advice for the TPM interviews, whether technical or nontechnical, as far as what to prepare and how best to prepare? I’ve read “Cracking the PM Interview,” which has been helpful, but I’m wondering if anyone working at Google or who recently interviewed might have more insight. Also, I know this might be silly, but what do I wear? I feel like I should look somewhere on the “casual but not too casual” / “nice but not too nice” spectrum but not sure where. Thanks in advance!
The "Cracking PM interview" is geared more toward a PM role, although I found it way too abstract / not very helpful. Not sure what exactly our TPMs go through, but I'd imagine some system design questions. Really surprised there's no coding!
Yeah, it is, but I find it has provided me some helpful guidelines in how to present my experience
Also, how is life as a PM at Google?? I applied for some and am guessing my qualifications weren’t too relevant, but product is the area I would most like to work in.
System design
I'd say the outfit isn't a big deal, business causal is a safe bet; definitely don't need a tie. :)
