I recently learned that my interview feedback was positive and am moving to HC for approval. I've always heard that HC is like the gauntlet, but his wording was "approval." I was asked for letter of rec from school. He was tight lipped about odds or 'how' positive feedback was. Anyone have experience with this process? Would he even send me to HC if rejection was likely? I'm being cautious regardless.
Hey @oRDP44, sorry for piggybacking on this post, but since you seem to know about Google's hiring process, I have a question. What does it mean if the hiring committee recommended more interviews? How often does that happen and is it a good or bad sign?
Could be the interviewers screwed up somehow or there was a big difference between interview numbers. They just don’t have good enough signal yet. Good sign overall, they wouldn’t waste time if it weren’t possible to get through.
Ok thanks. A big difference between scores is probably what it was.
Have you had a team match? It may be better to have a team match before going to HC. Please DM me if you are SWE, I am hiring in Cloud and can have a chat with you and your recruiter.
Team match happens *after* hc approves🤦🏽♂️
Hi m, I'm joining Cloud this Summer and am will soon be team matching. I'd be interested in chatting!
This happened to me. HC approved, no team match. I’m not bitter tho
Going to HC only means your interviews weren’t a complete disaster, doesn’t mean anything. Rejection is still likely statistically speaking. HC isn’t a gauntlet, they’ll spend a few minutes going over your feedback, in most cases it’s pretty clear.
So if you don't make it to HC that means you blew the loop entirely?
Yes, it means the recruiter declined to move you to HC.
