Google Host Matching for Fall 2019

Does anyone have tips for getting a host for Google for the fall? I was in host matching for the summer although I joined somewhat late (around mid-February) and ended up not getting matched despite changing my questionnaire a lot and asking my recruiter for advice and letting them know my interests. My current recruiter is giving me no advice despite me asking for a lot and this process is somewhat frustrating because of how intransparent it is. Feedback on interviews is also confidential apparently. Also if anyone is looking for an intern with a good knowledge on security/backend development/web dev/parallel computing/computer architecture etc, who knows a good amount of languages (including Go), and who has a good amount of experience please reach out to me!

Hello, I was in your shoes for Winter, got one interview and was not matched. This was disappointing and frustrating. I moved to Fall, also only got one interview, but it matched and I got an offer. I don't have advice because I'm not sure what they're looking for, but I would say if you don't make it this round, just try Winter too if you can.

If you are not matched, do you simply apply to the same position in the next season, where your process is slightly streamlined versus someone who has not interviewed at all?

Don't quote me, but I believe your technical interviews are valid for a year. So if you apply again after passing technical, you just get put into host matching.
