Google India asking for 3 month pay slips - what should I do?

My recruiter is asking for payslips. I've already given my Joining Letter which clearly states my TC and ESOPs. However they still want proof.

It's difficult to get them since I work at a startup, and we don't have a system. So it's a bit of work for an already overworked accountant. Lucky that I didn't lie about my current TC, so I will be able to provide proof, whenever I get the slips myself.

What's my best option here?
Can I tell the recruiter that I'm not getting them, assume my TC is legit and make an offer, I'll prove this to you later in the future?

TC: 27 Lakhs
YOE: 3

It’s kinda disgusting how Google managed to adapt these disgusting practices that are common in Indian sweatshop companies.

I don’t know about Indian business culture but this is beyond inappropriate in the US

Tell your accountant it’s for applying home loan and ask them to prepare soon. Explain the legit issue and share any Form-16 if you already have. Or share bank statements. It’ll show as “salary” I’m sure. Don’t take tension. You’ve already proved your talent and goog wants you so let them do the needful ;)

@microsoft Google is technically God for me right now. I got a 100% raise at my current gig, didn't give them my TC then. I negotiated like crazy.

I'm from a Tier 3 school, with startups in my experience, and having Google on my resume will take me places. I'm a very good dev, and I bet I can code and manage better than most people above my YOE. I'm just playing along. Don't want this to get screwed because of my greed, I can look for TC after I get some brand value.

@LeetGuy My problem is with this payslip sharing culture which is being promoted . As for screwing , they will never rescind your offer. They have objectives to fill. Chill and relax. They might offer you lower than new grad in the worst case

Get other offers and tell google that’s what they have to beat, not payslips.

Thanks for this. A lot of people have recommended me to do this, but I just felt unloyal to do so.

      Next time.

Unloyal? It’s a business deal. I understand that India has its differences compared to the US, but you should read this, especially the beginning part: https://haseebq.com/my-ten-rules-for-negotiating-a-job-offer/

You can black out or cover the pay, I had the same asked for me for a new job I just got.
It’s just to prove you weren’t laid off or fired from your previous employer. They ask you to cover wages, or any numbers.

Share your last 2 Years tax return, that should have your total TC information.
