I heard Google recently change their recruiting process. If it is not college hire, it usually starts with a recruiter phone screen. Does the recruiter make the decision if you move to next round and talk to hiring manager? Or the recruiter just provide the feedback to HM to review and decide?
Based on my experience the recruiter plays an important role, they can affect your outcome, so be very courteous and professional with them.
Job description, the requirements the recruiters get from their hiring managers and the things that you say during your initial phone conversation - all should align, that’s what recruiters usually mean when they say they’ll pass on the feedback to the hiring managers and get back to you.
that totally make sense

TESLA UP 14% AFTER HOURS 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Here are the steps from my recent experience: 1. Recruiter phone screen - not really a phone screen. They are just checking to see if you are interested and what your timelines look like 2. Phone interview 3. Onsite interviews 4. HC - Recruiter might decide whether or not to forward you to HC depending on your On-site feedback 5. Team Matching - this might happen before 4. or in parallel. This is where you get to talk to different Hiring Managers 6. Offer Each step depends on the previous one being successful
Thanks for the info. Did your recruiter set up phone interview right after the phone screen or you waited some time?
I waited about a month or so. They are really flexible with their timelines from what I have seen
