One of my friends has an offer from Google and she prefers Seattle as a city. What are the disadvantages of working in Kirkland vs working in mountain view?
Do you want discussion on the cities or the job? Kirkland/Seattle (there's a G office in Fremont, moving to SLU in the near future too) will get more bang for the buck typically. I actually like the weather better here, but probably a minority. MV is usually better for career progression.. but Seattle/Kirkland is probably the biggest US satellite (along with NYC) so less of a factor than something like Boulder.
I was mainly looking at the jobs perspective. I have her sold that Seattle is a better city to live in for tax benefits and lifestyle 😁
