Google L7 in UK, non-eng role salary advice

Got an offer for Google in the UK, L7, individual contributor. Base: $180k - $200k Bonus: 25% Sign-on: $40k Equity: $230k / 4 Few Qs: 1. looking at multiple posts, this offer seems to be on the lower side. Any thoughts? 2. If I join Jan 2020, will I still be eligible for refresher for 2020? (on the other hand if I join Dec 2019, does it make me automatically eligible for refresher for first year in 2020?) Thanks!!

This offer is slightly lower for L7 ICs here in the UK, try negotiating (competing offers will help). I believe you may be eligible for refreshers in both the cases, just ask your recruiter.

Thanks! What would be a solid L7 comp here btw? (i know it depends on lots of factors, but just trying to establish what i should be aiming for). Also, any suggestions on where it makes sense to negotiate the most (i.e. I assume they are more flexible on equity than the base for instance?) many thanks!

You may negotiate your base salary, or just say that you are aiming for a better TC (of 160k, which is the usual)

Is this in US dollars?

Oracle London2011 OP Oct 14, 2019

Yes. I wish it was in pounds!

ARM / Eng - you mean base of GBP 160k is the usual? (my offer is currently GBP 144k base)

That looks like a US L6 offer. Is it lower in the UK? Seems odd that you get paid less for the same scope and expectations.

Weird indeed. They’re trying to lowball me. I don’t have a competing offer, any advice on best way to negotiate this? What would be a good equity for L7? Thanks.

London2011, did you manage to negotiate and if so what was your final offer if you had accepted?
