I just got a verbal offer from Google and everything on here tells me to negotiate. Even the recruiter told me to “come strong” with a counter offer. Please advise...
Here is the initial base offer:
Senior Principal Google Cloud
L7
Base: $200k
Bonus: 25%
Equity: $400k over 4 years ($100k each year starts beating in 6 weeks)
Sign on bonus: $50k
She made suggestions for ideas on my counter offer and said the sign on bonus could be pushed back into the base to increase the base to $250k. I told her my Base salary hasn’t been that low in 5+ years; she said she would adjust it.
I told her I am focused on total comp and am looking for something closer to $500k in total; she said that sounded reasonable and she would work on it.
I told her I have another offer that is coming in next week for an Executive role in a midsized company. (I really do) I like this role with Google, but it needs to make sense.
She also told me to come back over the weekend or next week with anything else I feel I need in the offer.
Advise me; what do I need to ask for?

1) Base: 160k
2) Sign On: $50k
3) RSU: $350k (4 years)
Based on that, this offer seems almost laughable for L7 especially given how much more expensive the stock currently is compared to 2 years ago.
