Hello everyone Have an opportunity to work for Google in the Bay Area. The position is on the compliance side as an individual contributor with "Lead" title. It is not a manager role. I currently have 10 years experience in big 4. Recruiter initially indicated high end of the range/ expected compensation to be $150K with $150K equity and 15% bonus. After the compensation meeting they indicated $145K/$100K equity over 4 years and 15% bonus. Minimal sign on. Any thoughts on the compensation? Seems low to me but even at 10 years of experience it looks like managers typically have 12 to 15 years experience. Would love some feedback.
this is about right. google GTM jobs for line manager u are looking at 285k
Low for sure but it probably beats your current comp by a lot. Likely no negotiation
So if its low then what's the average at that level?
I'm in finance. This is a pretty good comp. Word of advice: negotiation is okay with Google but avoid back and forth as they might pull the offer. I have seen this happening, esp in finance
They pull the offer? Why?
What was your interview process like? Questions, etc?
I think it went quite well. Clearly not based on the comp lol
Op, did you take the offer? How are you liking it? Mind to share the interview process?

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
Does it beat your current total compensation and your peer group’s? I wouldn’t compare it to tech salaries here since they’re different jobs.
If I was in bay area, in public accounting, the total comp offered by Google is only about $15 to $20 K higher
I mean it’s fairly common knowledge the Goldman Sachs pays the lowest out of the investment banks because they know you’ll take the offer anyway and save the big money for senior roles. I’d say this is as good as it gets?
