I recently applied to Google through a referral and my application was not taken forward. After the person who referred me enquired more, he got this mail back. What could be the possible reason? Is there any other way to apply? I have attended Google interview once in college(2017), but didn't get through. YOE: 2 Mail: "That's a great question! While I can't share specific information for privacy reasons, I can give you some additional insight into what we are looking at. Our teams review all information in a candidate's packet including work history, previous interview feedback, and any referral feedback on file. We use those data points in conjunction with any new experience they've gained to determine if there is a match. I hope this helped to answer your question"
I know some people working in the recruiting team at Google so I can tell you that if it's an email, they may have copied and pasted it to your friend from their shared collection of email templates ๐.
While most resumes get filtered by the ATS, a referral only helps you in having an actual human read it. If it does not match the requirements, you still wonโt get a phone call. A powerful resume thatโs submitted without a referral would still be picked over a referral resume.
It just means there are too many people referred.
