My recruiter said headcount was less for new grad SWE but packet would still go to HC to be considered for SWE-SRE as I had initially opted for being dual-tracked when asked. I passed HC last week and am waiting on further info. Meanwhile, I wanted to know : 1) How does this track compare to the general SWE role? on the website, the SRE role seems really interesting but is it just the G version of DevOps? 2) Any tips for the SRE manager call? 3) Questions I should have for the manager? 4) Possible to switch to SWE in future? 5) Your experiences working as an SRE Thanks, blinders! SWE-SRE is different from pure SRE. It's a good role that gives you exposure to both DevOps and SWE work. But really depends on the team. Switching to SWE should be not difficult.
So was your interview identical to SWE? I assume so since you said you actually interviewed for SWE.
