Base:150k Sign on:30k GSU:200k/4 years Annual bonus:15% Relocation will be provided as well I have 1.5 years internship experience and 4 years experience at a Big4 consulting firm. Completed my MS right after my undergraduate. I asked for Bay Area, so Google found me a position in the MTV office. That was nice of them. Considering my experience especially that I am from non-FANG, how is the offer? I wanted to get back in a product company, was getting tired of the clients I had and move to Bay Area for opportunities at scale
Base is solid. RSUs can go up. But you need counter offers for that.
I had Amazon offer: it was pretty much same, they offered 100 stock units over 4 years.. 60 and 40 k Year 1&2 sign on, Comp team and HR did a screenshare, they plugged in Amazon's numbers in the competitor analysis excel tool and over the 4 years, Google offer was better by 60k without refreshers and increments. Also they mentioned that Google's benefits and relocation packages are better as well.
Oh and Thank you for your reply :)
Solid L4 offer
You can get more if you have competed offers
Pretty solid for your experience. As others said stock can go up but for that you need strong competing offers.
Yes true, assuming it might on an avg case say go up by 50k in total, so 12.5k the first year, after taxes n all, say 7k, taking that hit coz of the opportunity and that they gave me my preferred location + relocation on their dime.
I think you are doing a lot of imaginary math. I don’t think the overall package would have change if they wouldn’t have honored your location preference.
Don't understand blind. People agree 222k L4 is a solid offer but said 240k is an L3 offer yesterday.
It’s blind just now read Airbnb people saying 500k-600k is l5 TC.
Gsu is low and can be doubled (or more if you have competing offers), base is correct for l4. Sign on is good too. As a reference I know people hired at l3 for more than 300k gsu and people at l4 with more than 400k gsu.
Similar profile, YoE as mine?
It’s not bad honestly. Good job and good luck
