I'm being actively recruited for a Google Cloud Sales Engineer role. Has anyone gone through the process? I keep hearing on here how much better Google pays than Microsoft. Is that true of their sales roles as well? Any tips?
How is the technical/coding portion of the interview? I’m planning on interviewing for the sales engineer role, too. But I heard that you need to prepare the same as you would for a developer position.
technical part was a JOKE. i cannot emphasize this enough. Not saying the interview was a joke, but the technical part was absolutely. i’ve since had ppl tell me at Google that they know more than their sales engineer. I’ve known about 10 ppl who’ve gone through the process (roommate is a recruiter at Google) and all say the same thing about it not being technical... knowledge is 6 mos old....doubt anything has changed tho
Cool. I’ll give it a try :). Thanks!
It's sales... They are looking to make sure you can show up well groomed and have a conversation with a customer without coming across as a total idiot. The tech stuff can be trained if you have a minimum of aptitude.

Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
Had two friends hired into that role. They both got hired in at 90k base + about 20k in bonus give or take. Whatever you do...don't act confident in your interview. They hate that. Google is not like a consulting interview where you have to be confident. They want to see indecisiveness...as if you are weighing multiple data points. You will have to program a small app for them on GCP. They will also give you a couple of case interview style questions where you will have to come up with a business plan. If you're bad they escort you out at lunch, that part was pretty brutal I heard. This of course assumes you make the on-site, which is held at their new Sunnyvale campus.
Just 110k ? What was their experience level ? How about equity
