Is sales engineer same as sales rep @google . Usually sales rep have low base but high commision based on OTE and quota . Do sales engineer also fall in same bucket ?
Hi i went through onsite . My demo worked end to end and i finsihed ny presentation in time and gave 2 mins for my interviewers to ask any questions (i had to jog through one slide though). For couple of technical questions i told them that i donno know and i will get back to them . Somehow i left the interview with little disappointment as i couldnt show full potential of my demo ( managed to get response times under 50ms ) because of my time constraints . Do you think i have a chance to clear the interview , feeling little restless as i spent countless hours learning gce and demo.
You will hear quick if you are dropped. If you are still in the running, it is a good thing not to hear back too soon!

It can take a week or two after the onsite to go to HC. Hearing nothing from your recruiter is better than hearing (quick) that you are out; even better when they call you and give you the play-by-play. If you are just waiting.... It probably means you were on the fence, so they were not ready to cut you loose.yet.
Less upside/ at risk for customer facing pre sales engineer. So higher base % with lower % tied to quota attainment. This is true of almost all sales rep versus se roles for any company. Reps can make crazy money if over quota, but get cut free far faster when they miss quota.
Thanks . How about partner engineer at google . Do they have any quota targets . I personally never had a quota target , so its a new space for me . I am confused if i should move fwd or not.
I don't know for sure- but probably. They'd just need to track the deals the partners are bringing in. If you've never done pre-sales SE work before- Google is pretty chill & tends to hire folks that haven't necessary done the gig before. So check it out, and just find another team if you don't like it after a year or so. If you can make it through the hiring process and get an offer, then you can ask away about specifics on how quota attainment works.
