They already have a smallish presense there but theyre building a new building. I heard it'll be ready September ish but that they haven't figured out what teams to put there yet.. probably cloud because that's what everyone does here
It's not really a "smallish" presence. There are already 2 main offices (Fremont and Kirkland) and the 3rd South lake union office is opening later this summer. It will be a Google Cloud office (the signs are already up) and hold ~6000 people. The other offices are remaining open as well.

Seattle isn’t short of clouds. It’s always cloudy there. So they will most likely put cloud teams !!

And in case you just mean “Seattle” the way people in other states mean it... there are offices in Actual Seattle, but also Bellevue and Kirkland.
Is something happening to Fremont buildings? I’ve heard multiple people move to Kirkland/Bellevue who lived in Ballard/Fremont Area before joining Google.
Bellevue just opened for real a few weeks ago, it is still really small. Not every office has all the teams, and it isn’t easy to be the one single person on your team at a different office. Seattle isn’t going anywhere, it just isn’t everything (despite what people who live in Seattle like to think)

Why would google Seattle be on a hiring freeze if they’re opening a new office in Seattle ? I was told by recruiter their head count is done
Same - I think it's for generalist roles. My recruiter said that they should be opening more headcount in a few months
