Hi Blind Community, I plan on applying to Google's Strategy and operations roles and wanted to see if anyone who has recently gone thru the experience as either interviewer/ee could share some insights on types of questions asked and the degree of difficulty. Based on my research, I know I should expect to get a couple of cases but are they more specific to market entry or are there other types such as growth, profitability optimizations? For behavioral questions, what elements of Google's culture/value should my answers focus on? Background: strategy consulting/mba
@noobear Thanks so much for the detailed reply. I have a good idea on what types of cases to prepare. I am aiming for their nyc office. For fit and behavioral questions- I heard they are looking for googleyness- i.e. ability to work well in xfunctional, good problem solver etc...any other elements relevant to strat&ops role to highlight?
@cisco if you never worked as a strategy consultant it wont be overkill.
I'm in the same situation @haduken - can you share your experience post interviews?
I interviewed with the hiring manager just before Christmas, haven't heard back still. Any idea whether it's typical of google in some cases to take so long?
@haduken how did it go? Have a similar interview coming up so would love some tips
Over extensively preparing the McKinsey style cases may be unnecessary? Any suggestions on materials that can help with these type of case interviews? Is it worth looking into the materials from Marc cosentino, Victor Chang etc? Or may be an overkill in terms of prep?
