Base salary: $165k Equity: $480k Standard 15% bonus No signon Including bonus, total comp: $309k This is for Seattle area. Currently am senior engineer at Microsoft, 10 years experience. Thoughts? Seems a little low to me for T5, but also don't know what's due to Seattle vs. Bay Area.
Base is low for Bay Area, probably good for Seattle. RSUs seems good. >300k TC in Seattle is really good actually
What's decent for Sunnyvale/SF? T5- 6 years experience?
Do you have any competing offers to negotiate with?
Not quite yet. Have offers pending from fb and amazon, but still waiting for comp numbers.
If you get a competing offer you can push a signon, but they probably will not change the base/rsu
They will try to beat fb.
But for the first year you will be paid only 165k , that’s super low and you are loosing money there , you should atleast ask for matching or raising your base by 5% and giving you joining bonus of money equivalent of stocks that will vest this year so you don’t see drop in your comp for the first year
By the end of his first year he should be able to vest 1/4 of the RSUs and also get the 15% bonus
When does the first rsu vest happen?

Get competing offers, they’ll beat it. The offer they gave me was north of 400k TC (including annual bonus, excluding signing bonus)
Google pay more 💰 for dead horses
