I had 2 phone interviews prior to flying to Sunnyvale from Houston for onsite. I think phone interviews went great. I received communication from recruiter very next day early morning. Had my onsite on 01/07. 2 rounds were done using hang out. Alas, the room had faulty camera so interviewers couldn't see me (I could see them). Coordinator was in the room but the interviewers said they are ok rather having room changed. There were no markers in the room. I wrote on the back of my resume and interviewer who took my SQL test took one of those papers. I realized i didn't point out one question ,which was repeated in two successive interviews, to the second interviewer. It was not a coding/algorithm/SQL question rather a technical judgement question. Later I asked this with the guy with whom I was having lunch and he told me that next time i should point it out. Interview 1 - Good Interview 2 - Good Interview 3 - Good Interview 4 - Below Average (Grilled on some tangents and didn't provide satisfactory answer to one question) Interview 5 - SQL Test. 1st question solved in less than 2 minutes (explained it as well). For the 2nd part solved it after one hint. The guy was a junior engineer and he said I did well and took less time than him. Reached out to recruiter on 01/13 and heard she is waiting for the feedback from couple of interviewers. However she asked my availability for Wednesday 01/15 at a fixed time. Given all of these - Do you guys think i stand a chance or Wednesday meeting is for a reject? YoE - 15 Years - Big Data/Analytics/Cloud Working at The Home Depot (Houston) Base - $175K, Bonus - $18K, RSU - Varies every year.
I remember I had a follow up call from Google and it was rejection lol. Usually recruiters do tell you that the feedback was positive if it’s a hire. Really can’t say.
