Google Zurich v/s Microsoft Zurich
Hey everyone, I recently received an L4 offer from Google Zurich. Compensation: Base salary: 155,000 CHF Target 15% bonus: 23,250 CHF Google Stock Units: 100,000 USD Relocation package lump sum 28,000 CHF (if opting out of relocation services) I also have a competing offer from Microsoft that’s very similar to this, but there’s a possibility of negotiating there as well. Questions: looks like the offer from Google is quite low compared to what I’ve seen on levels.FYI. Did anyone also have similar experience? Were you able to negotiate? Also, to anyone that has moved to Switzerland with Google, how tedious and time consuming is the process? Also, another question, is it easier/simpler to relocate to Switzerland if you’ve already worked in the company for like 6 months in some other location, ie, my current location and then internally move? Apparently the recruiter mentioned that, so wanted to check. Any guidance, advice and help on this would be immensely appreciated. Tell that you are not satisfied with the offer in a polite and nice way, tell about the offer from MS. Try asking for more at RSU. They will most likely give an improved offer (Base & RSU). Google is one of the best employers in Switzerland.
Thanks for your tip! I’ll definitely try to get the RSUs increased and maybe a bit in the base as well. Also, I do have the Microsoft role completely remote, so maybe that is something I could use too.
$100k RSU is for a year or spread over 4 years?
Join msft then reinterview with G in a few years and jump ship with salary bump
