Google convert internship to full time

Hello, is it possible to convert my STEP internship to full time? Also, is it possible to get an L4 position?

Get an L4 position from EP internship? You are really shooting for the stars here... I thought the prerequisite of getting this internship is to have at least two years remaining in college. Not sure how would that workout for you.

Yep, I know it's a very optimistic goal, but based on what I hear about the responsibilities of an L4, I am confident that I can handle that. If I perform really well on the project, do you think that I have chances to convert at least?

Why don’t you apply for L4 directly instead of doing the internship? If you meet the standard I think they will just hire you as L4.

No, practically no chance to convert to L4 AFAIK.

What about converting to full time?

EP doesn't go to full time. EP goes to SWE. SWE goes to L3, unless you are getting a PhD. Are you in college? What year? EP is for freshman/sophomore. Also, there's almost zero chance you'd make a decent L4 right out of college

Sophomore, but I have decent experience freelancing and a successful previous internship and I also love algorithms and problem solving. There is zero chance to override the SWE part, right?

Yes, there is pretty much zero chance you'd get hired full time until you graduate.

Dang, so confident. I'm waiting to get 5 YOE / a senior title before I even attempt to interview for L4.

Or really? I have heard that L4 is mainly about having the job done without much guidance from other people, which does not sound so difficult. Am I wrong??

Can't really give you solid info since I never worked there. But based on blind, it seems like L4 for external hires typically require 5 YOE. Looks like Google tends to downlevel you as well. (Which is why I'm waiting to be a senior first. So I can get downleveled to L4).
