It’s my choice. I don’t need or want your union’s “help”. I don’t need some bureaucrat dictating to me my job terms and negotiating on my behalf I’m doing just fine.
Unions work the best when you ruin a day for huge amounts of people. Case study - BART. Have some crazy six figure salaries all around, shady overtime distribution rules and all of it at taxpayers dime.

Unions are in theory good but in practice horrible. That's why shit is so expensive and takes so long to get things done wherever unions are prevalent. Unions are there to protect people who don't have marketable skills or can't make it on their own. It's a crutch people use because they don't want to get good enough to be by themselves. And I feel for Google here. We had so many of these people at Square.
Maybe tech can make unions better...
