Is gTech worth working for? I already have big names on my resume. Looking for upward or lateral mobility and ability to learn new skills in a non-coding role. Current FAANG role lacks all these options.
Not worth it but you’re coming from Universal Orlando, so I’ll say maybe.
I'm not at Universal. I already have a FAANG role.
Some FAANG companies don't have roles like gtech's TSE or WSE, so one may be a software engineer doing work that would be done by gtech at Google. Having said that, if you work on interesting projects and the offered TC is not considerably higher (it hardly will as gtech roles have shitty TCs), you're much better where you currently are.
No.
Having worked in gTech before I would suggest that you don’t join it. My current team is piling up on gTech resources and they are typically pretty difficult to work with
What about the role did you not like?
I am in gtech, and it is awesome.
What do you like about it?
People, diversity of work. Only place I know where you get to do project on search one day, then pixel the next, ads the week after.
Unfortunately, my experience on gTech has been toxic.
Old thread but if you’re still around then care to share why?

TS role. Just curious if the group is toxic and I should avoid.
