I would be interviewing with google and was given the usual choice of picking all 4 coding rounds VS coding + system design. Interviewer mentioned that I am being considered for entry level L4 but might be down leveled based on interviews (obviously). Level would be kinda dealbreaker for me as I would not want to start at L3. I wanted to know how much impact would 'system design or not' have no leveling? I did ask recruiter but she was like absolutely nothing and go for system design only if you are a rockstar. Any advice/ suggestions would be much appreciated! TC- 160k

3 years post Masters. No prior experience, been preparing from usual online resources (grokking, etc.)
Until you’ve worked on these systems and really know the ins and outs I wouldn’t risk it - they will drill down and work out you don’t have that experience so you’d need to be a rockstar problem solver to pass it
