So, I was reading interview experience section at leetcode and the following post took my attention https://leetcode.com/discuss/interview-experience/407944/Google-or-L4-or-Warsaw-or-Sep-2019-Offer In short, guy claims that he had math and statistics background, no coding experience (like at all). And he made it to Google L4 in 9 months. Started learning programming languages, doing leets and watching Youtube. Is it even possible? Does it depend on location? (He had an interview in Poland). And yes. I'm jealous and have been rejected by Google recently :)
what do you even do at wix? @TcEs77
Oh, are you going to say that you solve some crazy math and algorithmic problems at your job?
Yes, math and stat is very logic heavy so he has strong background already.
Lot of prep + huge amount of Luck This is what you need to clear tech interviews. I m not saying the guy isn't qualified, I m just saying not all qualified engg make the cut. He was amongst the ones who made it.
Getting through the interview is easy with 9 months of prep. Getting an L4 loop was the tricky part.
Coding is easy if you know math. But math is not easy if you know coding.
There’s a point where you’re good enough at math that you basically know how to program already...
