Had Google interviews last week and got a rejection today. The result was that I didn’t get enough positive feedback to move forward, but there’s no res flags. Told me to try again next year and I’ll skip the phone screen round. Does that mean I did just average on all the technical rounds? Like not one interview that they think is good enough? What do you guys think? I didn’t think I was gonna make it since the beginning because I haven’t done interviews for almost 4 years and didn’t do enough practice before this interview. What role?
Dev, but not sure what level. There’s no system design, so I guess it would be below L5.
Yes means you statistically performed okay. If it makes you fell better, Google has an acceptance rate of 0.67%. That means it’s easier to get into Harvard and MIT than it is to get into Google
Where did you get that number from?
Well, applying to Google is free, so that percentage is not really comparable to university acceptance rates. It would be a lot higher if people had to pay to apply
How was interview? Just typical LC?
Typical LC, not even hard. I think my boring resume may also contribute to their feedback.
L3 or L4?
It was going to be based on the interview performance
I’m wanting to interview with G in the future and hoping it will be just typical LC questions. Did you get dynamic programming questions? A lot of people report they see those in G interviews
Send a GDPR request
What's that?
GDPR is EU big privacy set of laws, basically applies worldwide to big companies. say you want to get all the data they have on you based on interview that took place on XXX. You say this is an official GDPR request. They have to handover everything to you without question. Then you can send another GDPR request asking to delete anything they have on you if you want to start from scratch.
