Google interview target level
Hello blind My friend has a Google on-site for L7 EM coming up - currently a Sr Manager . He is now concerned he could be up leveled and is worried of not being able to perform well at a higher level . Any advice from Googlers familiar with the interview process is greatly appreciated. Guys - what I get from the OP is he/she is trying to ask what happens if his friend doesn’t do well at X level. Will he be down leveled or disqualified . One can’t be expected to do well if you’re being interviewed for 1 or 2 levels up

I’ve given 88 interviews. Just do your best and the hiring committee will set your appropriate level based on your interview responses. Each person interviewing will recommend a level. Most positions have level ranges so he your friend is at the lower end, it’s fine and the interviewers will recommend accordingly. If he’s an existing Sr. Manager, the L7 calibration is appropriate. I’m surprised he has on-site. Which site?
