It is known that Google offers are valid for 1 year and I was hoping for some advice about negotiating the offer towards the end of that year. Are they typically willing to negotiate and offer you more or do they typically keep the TC the same as the original offer if you dont have any competing offers.

Extra points if you have any personal stories on how it went for you!

YOE: 3 years
TC: ~200k

Your hiring committee results are valid for 1 year. Not your compensation, so no guarantee on what ur comp will be in a yr..I'm sure will be higher w inflation tho lol

Negotiation mostly dependent on competing offers. No competing offers = no negotiation.

What was the offer before? Was there a sign on bonus? ... if you are on top of the range there is no chance of increase. If you are in middle range you can influence them with competing offers or promotion offers at you current company.

I haven't negotiated yet / informed them that I wont be accepting at this time but do you think its better to negotiate now and try to get something closer to the numbers of my other offer(s) or just negotiate towards the end of the year?
