Who are they hiring then?
They don't need entry level software engineers. However, if they find a diverse candidate that's entry level they will make an exception and conduct an interview with them. They're still hiring white folks for other roles.
Isn't that discriminatory practice and should be sued for the same?
Google gets sued every day for all kinds of stuff. Seriously. It’s constant.
Hiring more women is a primary goal at G and F. Amazon and MSFT not so much. Don't know about Apple.
It’s also the case at Microsoft.
This is also the case at Amazon. I'm a hiring manager.
Wow they got sued and bullied because they didn't have enough diversity and called Google a white guy party. Now they are trying to address that and still they get sued. Damn if you do damn if you don't.
There is a difference between prioritizing underrepresented groups (legal affirmative action) and banning white guys (illegal discrimination). The suit is alledging that in at least one recruiting group the latter is what occured.
They mostly hire white/Asian people. Because that's most of the hiring pool. You have stand out in some way, but it's weird to say "not hiring whites" when clearly they are and in great volume.
Lol that’s fake news everyone I know that got hired is white and Asian
That’s bullshit. No matter what you do one group will always exaggerate and blame it on Google. Just stop ranting and may be admit you were rejected due your skills not being good enough. I’m a very frequent interviewer at Google and I always scan the packets of rejected candidates and in my experience I’ve never seen a candidate rejected unfairly.
In fairness, they’re getting sued from every angle.
Maybe that’s a sign that this approach is not working so well?
This is actually really hilarious now that I think about it
