I don’t blame Google, but just let you know taking privacy serious may conflict with FB moving fast culture to some extent. In Google, people get used to move slowly but more stably.
Also, just to caution a bunch of people’s naive thinking on quick promotions. If you get quickly promoted to E5 without at least 6-8 years of experiences, do you think you’d have an easy time to find a job elsewhere with same level?
There’re also so many managers here who won’t be able to get the same job title anywhere else because of their lack of years of experiences and maturity. So they’re stuck in this company. How many F500 companies have directors and VPs who are less than 35 years old?
It's not about age, it's about talent. There are plenty of good managers in their 30s.
p.s. moveslow, I'm probably a lot older than you but appreciate having a younger and vibrant engineering org than when I was at HP and oracle in the 80s and 90s.
